“The ability to read, write, and analyze; the confidence to stand up and demand justice and equality; the
qualifications and connections to get your foot in the door and take your seat at the table — all of that starts
with education.”
—Michelle Obama
Deep down, the impact and importance of education is universally known. It is not only just about learning reading, writing and doing arithmetic at school. Instead, formal education is about gaining the knowledge and the skills needed to become a better person and to create a better society to live in.
A proper education sets children up to grow personally, professionally, and socially. It can awaken joy, curiosity and a deep desire to solve problems, help others plus inspire them to pursue leadership roles and positively impact those around them.
With the rapidly changing world of the 21st century, we must equip our children to face the challenges head on and emerge victorious.
Today’s education is about giving students the skills they need to succeed in this new world, and helping them to develop the confidence to practise those skills. With so much information readily available to them, 21st century skills focus more on making sense of that information, sharing and using it in smart ways.
In a time when mental health and well being is one of the biggest challenges facing young people, it is crucial for students to acquire the skills they need both for now and for the future. Skills like communication, critical thinking and EQ go beyond the workplace: they can help children through the most difficult times of their life.
In bringing out the best in each child, parents play a vital role as equal partners; I hope that every parent recognises the great responsibility we have in nurturing our young ones to bring about a better tomorrow. I also wish that every student realises that the future of this world is entrusted to them.
We are doing our part by instilling good moral values in our children. At the same time, we are incorporating the use of technology in our teaching methods, to enable our students to be well equipped to understand as well as take on any challenges they may face as they step out into an ever evolving world.
We at S L BAJORIA FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL take pride in it’s efforts towards achieving perfection. It is with this motto that we instil in our students, the true spirit of leadership, and perseverance whilst making sure that they are ready for their future because Learning is not attained by chance; it must be sought for with ardour and diligence.
